Is this Irony?

This came out of a discussion on tennis that Chris and I had over at y2summer yesterday.

God made Eve for Adam out of his rib. Nowadays, some men get ribs removed so that they won't need women in order to...searching for proper euphemism..."clean the parking brake." Is this ironic? Disgusting? Stupid? Genius?

BTW, that euphemism came from the Best Euphemism Generator Ever.

Are you sure Eve was made for the purpose of producing children? How do we know this was god's true intention?

It could have gone something like this:
Adam: I need someone to "exhaust my pipe" (anachronism alert!)

God: Here I shall create one who shall do that for you. Just don't eat my apple.

BTW, your post, Ayush of out of 10 the humerical scale.

In additon "'that'" may be the best euphemism of all. Kudos.

Need to leave my desk, can't stop giggling and drawing attention to myslef.

Nice post, Chris.

To piggy-back on these ironies: What is one of the most delicious foods men like to eat? Ribs. Do women like ribs? No, they're too "fattening." And yet they are the basis of their existence. (Perhaps this is the reason why so many women are fat.)

Also, where do the ribs we eat come from? Pigs. Isn't it ironic that feminists tend to refer to men as "pigs" when they want to belittle them for their own political ends? They are the ones who stem from the anatomical part most associated with pigs.

What is the function that ribs serve in humans? To protect our vital organs. And yet the organ that is, hands down, the most vital for women - the uterus - is not protected by the ribs.

Elaborating to other cultural creation myths, let's look at the origins of the Greek goddess Athena. She was born from the skull of Zeus fully grown. Logically, it follows from this fact that Athena's brain cavity is smaller than Zeus's since she had to fit her head plus her entire body inside Zeus' head. So even though Athena is the goddess of wisdom, it is clear that this wisdom is of a certain lesser kind - what is the best thickness of yarn to use in weaving, what shade of makeup best accentuates your bone structure, how to give the best blowjob, how much cumin is too much in any given recipe, etc.
